Birthday Wishes

Monday was my Moms' Birthday and I had no idea of a design when I started her card. All I did know is that I wanted it to include Butterflies somehow, one of her favorites. So, I first started with one of my favorite color palettes that I've been working with lately. There is just something about teal and yellow with black and white that pops. Chalkboard is also all the rave right now, so I thought I would start with these ideas as my design.

I dug around in the scrap pile and found the Top Note negative that I had punched out of wood paper a long time ago and decided to use that for the frame of my card. For the Chalkboard look. I stamped "Wishes" onto black paper with Snowcap White pigment ink and heat embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder. Then doodled around the edge with my favortie white gel pen from uni-ball. The "Happy Birthday" is from a Tim Holtz stamp set and I stamped it with Black Archival ink onto a white die cut tattered banner also from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peak at my latest creation. I hope my mom likes it.
