Secret Love

My secret love has been doing a different tag each month. It gives me time to play with new products or try old products in a different way. It's truly my creative time. For this tag I played with Sizzix Mover and Shapers for the first time. I love how you can place them in the center of objects and make a negative space. I also used Tim Holtz Pone Cone die cut in a different way. I cut it out of white paper and inked the edges a little to make it look like a rose bud. Then I topped everything off with Ranger's Perfect Pearl Mist. This spray is totally different from any other spray on the market right now. The color is in the shimmer only and not the liquid. So when you spray it on top of your project, it will just add that hint of shimmer color and will not react with your inks and turn them to mud.

To Close Too Home!

My inspiration for this card was, a one heck of a storm that we had here in Missouri on Sunday. The clouds outside my studio were many different shades of swirling blues, greys and black. Yes I said swirling. We did have a confirmed tornado touch down less than a mile away.

I ran the base of the card through my Big Shot using the Postal embossing folder for texture. Then I rubbed Faded Jeans Distress Stain all over the background, varying the pressure to get the light and dark shades of the blue. The entire background is then spritzed with Perfect Pearl Mist and the outer edge is rubbed with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I love to use silhouettes of images, so the Umbrella Man worked perfect for this card. I punched him out of chipboard and painted him with Semi-Gloss Black paint.
